According to a recent notice from the Ministry of Education, there have been multiple fire and explosion incidents at self-service laundromats in recent years. To prevent similar accidents on campus, any laundry equipment powered by flammable compressed gases such as natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) must be equipped with gas and carbon monoxide detectors, automatic emergency shut-off devices, and appropriate fire safety equipment. Clear signage indicating emergency contact information and “No Open Flames” warnings must also be posted to ensure a safe laundry environment.
Please be assured that the washing machines and dryers in this dormitory are powered by electricity only. No flammable compressed gases are used.
When purchasing or using laundry detergents and related products, please be mindful of the following safety tips:
- Choose products with clear labeling and complete manufacturer information. Carefully read the Chinese label on the packaging. It should include:
◆Product name
◆Manufacturer’s name, phone number, and address
◆Country of origin
◆Main ingredients or materials
◆Net weight, volume, quantity, or measurement
◆Manufacturing date and expiration date (if applicable) - Follow the instructions on the package regarding proper usage, dosage, and applicable use. Do not use excessive amounts of detergent, as it may result in residue on clothing and inside the washer, potentially causing skin irritation or bacterial growth.

一、依據教育部通知，近年坊間自助洗衣店發生多起火災與爆炸事故。為防範類似事件發生於校園，若洗衣設備使用天然氣、液化石油氣等可燃性高壓氣體，應加裝瓦斯與一氧化碳偵測警報器、自動緊急遮斷裝置及相關消防設備，並於明顯處標示緊急聯絡方式與「禁止煙火」等警示，以確保洗衣環境之安全。
二、本宿舍設置之洗衣、烘衣設備皆使用電力，未使用任何高壓可燃性氣體，請同學安心使用。
三、提醒同學於購買或使用洗衣劑等產品時，應注意以下事項：
- 優先選購成分標示完整、來源清楚的產品，並仔細閱讀中文標示內容。建議確認以下資訊：

◆製造商名稱、電話與地址
◆原產地
◆主要成分或材料
◆淨重、容量或數量
◆製造日期與有效期限（如有） - 用時請依照包裝上建議的範圍、用量及使用方式操作。請勿過量使用洗衣劑，以免造成殘留於衣物或洗衣槽，可能引起皮膚過敏或細菌滋生等問題。
